What does the future hold for **** sapiens?

I don't really know how I feel about this myself but voted for the most optimistic option... interested to hear your opinions!

Thanks for the feedback... I am surprised that more people don't see us colonizing other planets within the next 300 years though... that is, among the people who think we survive at all.

I don't forsee anyone wanting to live on other planets. Not only is it far, there aren't any beaches, mountains, forests, etc - and anything fabricated wouldn't be as good as the "mother nature" kind.

I don't know which option to pick.

I dunno.

Considering how technology has picked up such incredibly exponential speed in the last century, nothing seems impossible.

The thing that really has me the most worried, though, is global warming. I do think humans have real potential to move beyond Earth one day (probably into galaxies we haven't yet explored), it's just a question of whether the choices we've made here will give us enough time to do so.

I'm not trying to make a serious case either way, though... I was watching a documentary today about the beginnings and distant past of **** sapiens, and that got me pondering our future....

My feeling is if we can't get it right here on our own planet, where nature has a way of keeping things fairly well sorted out, then what luck are we going to have trying to spread a civilization to other planetary bodies? The only thing that idea has going for it is that pioneering spirit that seems to still be going strong. Amazing what tolerance that gives some people.

I voted still living on Earth, with greatly reduced numbers as even the current numbers aren't sustainable, probably, and certainly not sustainable in the current manner without cheap, plentiful energy, which we won't have by then (probably).

Colonizing space is not a practical way to solve overpopulation on Earth, even if space colonization is possible, which it proably isn't, given the evidence.

blue smocks? By that time we will have SAMID's (Sam Walton.Automatic.Marked.Identification.Data) Similar to current RFID technology, but implanted in peoples arms.

Walmart (with help from Google UberTerraServer) Will know what every single person does at all times. You will automaticly recieve pay based on work output - not per hour. They will send you items the google servers think you will like - and charge you automaticly.

This will all be possible when Robert Bush (30th in line in the Bush Dynasty [which now controls 80% of the middle east]) forces the remainder of congress to sign the PATRIOT VII Act

and our poor children have to deal with it all...

I voted only on Earth but in greatly reduced numbers, but I give us a 50/50 chance of that or extinction.

I don't think that 300 years will be enough for us to be living on other planets enough to vote for that, but I could see us with outposts or colonies on the Moon or Mars.
