I have opened Non-Resident account with HSBC- Mumbai, a city where world's most vegetarians live.<br><br><br><br>
After making application, I received kit containing all leather products for card holder, check book wallet and a big file holder. This leather smelled horrible and I had to immediately quarantine. Being born in vegetarian community I found it very ridiculous and was unhappy.<br><br><br><br>
I wrote to their seniors- regional manager Mr. Groover, but he did not respond postively even after multiple emails and phone calls to stop this practice atleast which do not hurt vegetarian followers and animal lovers.<br><br><br><br>
For HSBC INDIA it is standard practice and they feel pride in sending leather products to their customers. Their introduction reads like this:<br><br>

" We welcome pack contains............. your relationship with HSBC. These include the following:<br><br>
PERSONALISED CHEQUE BOOK,<br><br>
DEBIT CARD<br><br>
A LEAFLET...<br><br>
A LEATHER KIT CONTAINING INFORMATION ON HOW HSBC PREMIER CAN SERVE YOU."<br><br>

I wonder What makes HSBC think that by murdering animals & leather kit can exhibit as how HSBC premier can serve you?<br><br><br><br>
FYI their service was real worse in terms of banking and it took 40 days to open account and half of things were missing from kit eg security device, internet banking details and made mistake in printing check book by changing gender from female to male for my daughter's account. And it took 14 days to reach after shipping which normally takes 1-3 days.
