My friend on Facebook commented on a picture in one of her groups of a cow pooping on grass and the caption read, "VEGETARIANS: Our food is S***ing on your food." and her response is, "Hysterical." A friend of her responded twice, once by saying,"LOL!! The manure will endure. Good lord, I swear I got a whiff from looking at this picture." Then the same person said, "On second thought, if all he eats is grass all is good--still vegetarian." My response was "OMNIVORES: Our food isn't processed using things like ammonia."<br><br>
My question is, and I'm sure more then one of you will see this for yourselves (not necessarily my friend's post, but the picture), is how will you respond to this?

I'd point out how often meat is contaminated with fecal matter, what do they think all those salmonella and ecoli outbreaks are all about? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/spew.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":spew:">

I tend to ignore posts like this, especially if they are good friends of mine. It's not worth getting into a fight over when at the end of the day, no matter what I say to them, they are still going to eat meat. Instead of un-friending them, you could hide their posts so you don't have to see anything like that.

I guess I just wouldn't bother responding. The "joke" in and of itself doesn't really make sense and isn't clever. It's just meant to be demeaning. Them posting it at all is far more of an insult to their character than an insult to our lifestyle. Someone posted a similarly quasi-offensive, nonsensical picture on my facebook. Something involving Captain America being sensitive to vegetarians and Deadpool force feeding them meat loaf. He was very pleased with himself.<br><br>

I would say 'can we expect more jokes from you that don't make sense or is this a one-off' <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/tongue3.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":p">

My bf once posted this on my Facebook... I wasn't really offended, I just took it as an excuse to say a lot of semi humorous stuff back... Obviously it's pretty silly though as they eat plant foods as well. At any rate meat is often exposed to fecal matter, so maybe just throw in a helpful factoid like this about feces on meat and in milk (comes from a neutral non vegetarian site): <a href="http://foodsafety.news21.com/2011/safety/inspection/feces" target="_blank">http://foodsafety.news21.com/2011/sa...spection/feces</a><br><br>
At least with vegetables we can (usually) peel and scrub them!

As said, there is **** in meat, that's why you can often read instructions like wash your hands after touching meat. If we were carnivore we wouldn't need to cook meat ( ever seen an animal cooking it's meat ? their bodies are different, saliva, bowels, claws, teeth... ), we cook it to be sure that all the **** and worms and bacteria are not too dangerous for us to eat.

Don't forget also that cows eat a lot of plants to be fattened up for meat, while vegetarians and vegans in comparison eat a lot less. So their food is still eating a lot of those plants that are fertilized with manure, and then meat-eaters also need plants on the side.<br><br><br>
Anyway, in response to the question, I would just completely ignore it, not respond at all to the photo, and take the high road. Time online is not worth any negativity at all, and I pity those people who have such an absence of happiness in their life, as well as an absence of more productive, happy things to post about or look at on Facebook, that they feel the need to go make fun of random vegetarians anyway.

If i say it I would just make a very in depth story explaining everything in their food. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"> could be funny<br><br>
AND I agree with all of those people saying you'd unfriend the person.

Well, all in all good advice. No one responded after my post...which makes me wonder if they just simply went on to other things or not...<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="">

I would post the lyrics to 3 Tom Jones songs in a row, to troll them.

I'd probably roll my eyes and move on with my life, although I like both your response and Clueless Git's.

I wouldn't be offended. I might laugh actually. It's just me and just a joke so it's all good.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)">
