How to stop eating Junk Food

Hello!
So I've noticed that I eat a lot of junk, like a lot. e.g: chips, candy, cookies, etc. And honestly I want to stop! I want to eat healthier. I've been vegetarian for a year so I'm already healthy but I still eat wayyyy to much junk like it's embarrassing how much I eat but I have a high matablison so I don't really gain weight from that. Anyway any tips on how to eat no junk food or some healthy alternatives for it. btw I'm only a teen so that;s why I eat so much junk because for some reason being a teenager makes you crave so much bad food.

You might like healthy foods that are sweet, crunchy, and/or tangy. Raw jicama and sugar snap peas are sweet and crunchy. Whole wheat pita bread is delicious dipped in hummus. Unsalted nuts are crunchy and satisfying.
Trail mix.... the kind that's just made out of dried fruit and nuts.

Make raw cookies in a food processor using the same dried fruit, nuts and nut butter.

You can puree fruit and make popsicles.

From my experience I can say that it's all about stress. There are scientific studies showing that, when people have too much stress, they tend to eat too much or too little, and they also tend to eat unhealthy food.
Heard about people eating chocolate when they have stress?

Unfortunately, the appetite is influenced by the state of mind. Therefore you need to be in a good psychological shape and when you get into a permanent good state of mind you will feel no temptation to eat junk food.
The OP is allergic to nuts (per her other posts), just an FYI.

The salt, fat, and sugar in junk food is probably what makes it so "addictive". There are a few ways around that. One is to buy junk food in single serve packages as an occasional treat/convenience snack, like commercial energy bars or chocolate plant milk etc. Or...broaden your variety of healthier plant foods and try new stuff.

I second jicama. Eaten raw, it is very starchy and sweet. It also goes well with just about any sauce or dip. Hummus is another food that can be bought in a small container at your local grocery (usually in the deli or produce section) and eaten with raw vegetables and fruits.

Dates and figs are like dessert eaten all by themselves. The more you eat fresh fruits and other whole plant foods and the less you rely on processed food, the more you begin to appreciate the texture, taste, and energy whole foods provide.

It doesn't have to be "whole foods" though. As others have said, pita bread, tortillas, toasts etc all make great snacks with stuff in/on them like hummus, peanut butter, bean dips, applesauce and cinnamon, fresh fruit or fruit compote.

The suggestion to substitute fruit and nuts is a great one. I do that. But, the first thing you have to do is STOP BUYING IT.

You might also want to look around for stores that sell organic food. Close to where I live there are a few and they sell vegetable and (especially) red beet chips (crisps) that are organic and way more more tasty than industrial grade "potato" chips. Since I've had these for the first time, I never even glanced at the others again :)
