I put 8-9 hours, and it'd be great if I could get that every day (on average), but I can't! *Everything* takes me ages, and I'm useless at managing my time.
I work shifts which is a help in some ways and a hinderance in others. I'm rubbish at getting up unless I absolutely have to.

I wish I didn't need any sleep, and still felt like this
all the time!

Im good on 5 hours a night - less if I need too, more if Im ill.

I used to suffer from insomnia so I know how to make the most of the empty time when the whole world is asleep but you can't - online gaming!

My partner sleeps 9 hours so I usually turn the lights out at her bed time and sit around for 2 hours before I fall asleep and I get up early to watch the sunrise while shes still sleeping.

I would like 8.

I do fine on 7.

I can function on 6.

I can pretend to function on less. Caffine allows me to feign alertness without all that annoying mental acuity.

...

Did you know that the average insomniac gets about 6.5 hours of sleep per night? Insomnia is as much about being worried about getting sleep as it is about not sleeping. Take this from a mild insomniac.

ebola

np: 5 hours of sleep

i voted over 9, but i'm not always tired! my optimal is 9 1/2 to 10h per night. i feel like **** when i sleep less than 9 though - it hurts to wake up! and if i get less than 7h i have intense migraines and feel like throwing up all day.

I need about 7, but I needed more when I was younger. I am extremely stupid if I get less than 6 and it's hard for me to make decisions like what to make for dinner...

I seem to handle lack of sleep a lot better some days than others.

likewise. i generally need 8 or 9 but i can make do on 7. any less than that and i'm a total moron all day. but it depends on the day. i mean if i get up to go to work or something mundane, lack of sleep makes me ditzy. if it's a case of not being able to get to sleep because of something exciting the next day i'm ok, it's still hard to get out of bed but i guess the adrenaline or whatever makes up for it all.

i'm bad for oversleeping though, if i'm not working i'll stay up really late at night and then end up sleeping in too late in the day. on days like that i could just stay in bed all day and be perfectly happy, if it weren't for hunger and that pesky bladder. a lot of days those are the only reasons i actually do get out of bed.

8 to 9 makes me very happy, but I can function on virtually none for a surprisingly long amount of time...

I regulary function normally for 2-4 days at a time on 3/4 hours a night; my most impressive were two separate occasions upon which I functioned completely normally on 45 minutes and no one could tell. I don't like not sleeping one little bit, but I can certainly do it.

i'm always joking with people (or having them say to me..) that "i really ought to work on getting more than one hour of sleep a night!" or "i should try and get in the habit of sleeping EVERY night.." hehe. i hardly sleep. 3 or 4 hours a night, 5 if i feel like "sleeping in." i feel like sh*t if i sleep a "normal" amount *shrug*

I chose 9 hrs as my perfect amount. I can function for a few days with much less (say, 4), but when I go to bed at 8:30pm I'll actually wake up all by myself in time to go to work in the morning, hey, even time to eat breakfast!--anything less than 9 and I'm dependant on the alarm (and the snooze button!), have to skip breakfast, and am late to work. Okay, so I actually very very rarely go to bed at 8, so basically, I'm just always late to work. :/
