Here's mine. Hit F11 to maximize this 1024 by 768 jpg. (and f11 to return to normal). If you're using msie, you may also need change some image setting to one that causes the jpg to display at its actual maximum size, instead of automatically being shrunken by msie to fit the page.

Normally I don't display the text below the toolbar icons, and the toolbar fits on one line instead of being wrapped to 2. Not only does it fit on one line, but it only takes up about half the line. So there is room for the status bar display, too. Between "fit to width" on the left, and the digital clock on the right, is the "status field" -- this is the same thing as what is on the "status-bar" display -- mostly it shows mouse-over text. So I can view the mouseover text there, right on the main toolbar, and leave the status bar turned off -- except for very long links which won't fit.

Also I have my Book mark bar turned off -- as you can see the button for it, on the main bar, is not highlighted.

My custom buttons: "new window" opens a new window -- on which I can put as many tabs as I want. And I can open as many new windows as I want. To open a new tab in the existing window, I just double-click the tab area. I call the button to turn the tab bar on and off the "pageBar" button, rather than "tab bar" button.

"Volume" calls up the sound cards volume slider controls. "Windows" opens a new tab which shows all the windows that are open, and all the tabs that are open in each window. (To go to any tab, in any window, I just click on its name in the "window" window. "Disable plugins" is a toggle button -- If toggle it on, on it it prevents plug-ins from starting. If I hold the mouse button down for 2 secons, the volume slider pops up. I can use that to change the sound level on audio plug-ins. "manage Sessions" displays a list of all the "sessions" i have saved, including the automatically saved "last session." Sessions are sets of windows and tabs. Voice turns on the voice features -- the computer speaks and you can speak to it. "Doc View" turns on a special toolbar with more buttons. "Address bar" toggles the address bar -- which also has the forward and backward arrows, the reload page button, and the log-in memory button (the "wand.") There is also a searh engine text box -- you can see it is now set for google. The eyeglasses are another button to turn on the "Doc View" toolbar.

"Toogle tooltips" goes to a screen where I can turn "tooltips" (status message on mouseover, superimposed over the page instead of in its own bar) on or off. "Fit to width" allows pages that need to be scrolled right-left, to be shrunken a bit, so that scrolling is no longer necessary. this works surprisingly well, it almost always just re-wraps text, and leaves images at their normal size. You can see I have a clock. And finally, "Open in IE." This opens MSIE and loads the current page in MSIE -- handy if the page author designed her page to display in MSIE, but ignores W3 standards, and therefore the page does not display well in Opera. If "identify as Mozilla" or "identify as MSIE" does not enable a page to display in opera, as a last resort, you can hit the "open in IE" button -- just one button-press does it all -- you don't have to find MSIE in your start menu, open it, and then copy and paste a page address from opera's address bar to MSIE's address bar.

Oh yea -- the "menu" button toggles the main menu on-off. To get the menu back if the toolbar is also toggled off, I can either hit ctrl-alt-shift M, hit ctrl-alt-shift T to get the main toolbar back on, then hit the "menu" button.

Note that I can go to full screen instantly by hitting F11, or gradually progress toward full screen by hitting the buttons one by one, to remove the page bar, then the address bar, etcetera.

"too much browser, not enough webpage visible imo"

Here is the way I usually work. Note there is no (separate) status bar and instead I have the status field showing on the toolbar, on the right (just to the left of the digital clock). I can also remove buttons from the toolbar one by one. Right click the button and select "remove from toolbar." To return a button: It can be as easy as hitting a remaining button, then dragging and dropping from a list of buttons, to whatever toolbar I want the button on.

The beauty of opera is I can arrange to easily remove toolbars and menus, bar by bar, and menu by menu, or return them, with single button press, until i have just the right balance between browser and web page. Note that remove the tabs on the left is just a matter of hitting the "page bar" button on the main tool bar. Or I can do it from the main menu. To get the tab bar from the left to the top, it takes a bit longer: Right click, select "customize", select the placement I want, in the placement text box, then hitting OK.
