I don't know if you've heard about this but Hooters was going to do a bikini contest and donate all proceeds to L.A. to benefite the spay and neuter programs.

Apparently, there were some complaints and the money was TURNED down!

It amazes me that this could have brought so much attention to a demographic that needs to be hit (young males) and that this was much needed money to a worthy cause.

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...home-headlines

I got to say that sometimes the arguments used by so called feminists are just plain dumb.

Thanks Alfie

It doesn't bother me. These girls want to raise money? GREAT!

This was my favorite line in that article:

Animal activist Judy Cairns of San Pedro said she could live with the bikini contest on the condition that city officials — namely the men — also show some skin.

"I want to see Mayor Villaraigosa's legs," Cairns said.

Actually, I would like to see him in leg chains after what happened to Gita

I think in the end, the Amanda Foundation will be accepting the money. At least it is going to good use. But LA city needs to really look hard at why they were declining this money.

There was a letter to the editor in today's LA Times about it. Was that from you, alfiedog?

Was it really well written? Were you blown away by the sophistication and eloquence with the use of words? If so, then it was mine . . .

But . . . no, it wasn't me . . . what did it say?
