First off. I really do think vegan is awesome. For the most part I feel like I have been doing well but I have noticed slight differences when in actually the more recent months. (I have been vegan for almost 2 years) I am actually a lot "hungrier" now. I am usually munching on things throughout the day. However, I feel that this may be partially due to school and stress because 1. I'm lazy when I get up in the morning so I don't bring much to school for lunch. Last year I actually brought more of a lunch to school and wasn't as hungry as I often feel now. 2. The stress of all the loud noises and ignorant kids at school drive me crazy. I really can't stand school but in some ways I understand the importance of it. So maybe all the stress is taking energy away from me xD
Another problem that actually started shortly after I went vegan was that my hair fell out at a faster rate? I mean, I have a lot of hair, but it comes out easier now...but it's not like just all dropping to the floor or anything. o.o
(I apologize if this is too personal for some) but I have also had my periods less frequently...however I don't think that veganism is necessarily to blame for that. We had a discussion about that in my health class where my teacher said that it's typical that gymanists or really active people don't tend to get their periods as they have lower body fat, so to preserve energy, the body decides not to go into the cycle as often. o.o She didn't say that was necessarily a bad thing though....and I mean, I don't think many girls would complain not getting their period every month xD
But anyway, I wanted to know if anyone wanted to share honest health concerns they have had with being vegan, or if maybe some people can contribute and tell us things they did to fix an issue. Would love to hear!!! But let's not feel too bad about small health issues, because with 2/3 of Americans overweight on the typical american diet, I don't think omnivores have too much to shake a stick at xD
