Has anyone made these? I love love love wasabi, but I've never tried making wasabi peas/beans, etc. I'm having a hard time finding them in the store without lots of nasties (mostly artificial color..who the heck cares what colors the peas are?). They're also ridiculously expensive.

Any ideas? I swear I could eat wasabi peas and orange juice 24 hours a day.

Snap! I am thinking the same thing! I have had success with roasting chickpeas http://spidergrrlvstheworld.blogspot...ty-crunch.html and was wondering if I couldn't do a wasabi coating on them, but haven't been brave enough to try. That and wasabi powder costs like £4 which i can't spare at the mo.

M&S makes them without artificial colour (they use chlorophyll I think) but they do have palm oil which i try to avoid.

I have some powder that wasn't too pricy, but not sure how to use it for paste. Have some time wed afternoon, so may play around then. If they taste decent, i'll send you some.

The palm oil is in most all of the ones I've seen too.
