I've been getting really girly lately. Which prompts me to think, maybe I should take care of my skin a bit better...

Does anyone have any really good (or even mediocre) at-home facial recipes? I started looking online and just found dumb ones, like, "use miracle whip!" or.. "salt and lemon juice!"

No shizz, I bet desert sand is an exfoliant as well, but I wanted to pamper myself, not rub mayonaise on my head.

oatmeal is good for oily/sensitive skin. whirr it in a blender and add water to make a paste. add a teeny drop of EO if you want.

oatmeal is great! I mix oat meal with 1 drop tea tree oil to some sweet almond oil and mix it in the oal meal for a scrub/facial mask.

I mix it up quite a bit though , ground strawberries mixed with yogurt make a great mask!

I should mention though that I have no problems with pimples or skin blemishes or anything, so I dunno if oil works for everyone.

Course I'm also the freak that uses olive oil on knees and elbows and feet

Oh, I rub olive oil on dry skin. And when I have the luxury, hemp oil for the same purpose.

Okay, so - I don't have any oatmeal in the apartment (go figure!) But I do have barley flakes, which seemed to work just as well in terms of exfoliation. I just made a paste with water, to give it a shot, then followed with some toner. I think it will do just fine. Maybe I'll try with avocado next time, for the fat/vitamins. Yea? Anyone rubbed avocado on their face? Hehe, I seem to recall it's not unheard of...

Honey!! Well, unless you're vegan, lol. If not, honey is great as a mask, you can sugar or anything else to exfoliate a little bit too.

CharityAJo! Long time no see! Woot!

Homemade facials and scrubs are great, but what to use depends a lot on what kind of skin you have..are you dry/oily, prone to outbreaks, etc.

Mashed avocado is a good one for fair-dry skin. I like oatmeal as well, but my skin tends to be a bit oily.

Hehehe. *smooch*

My skin likes to be oily, and ... is very fond of hanging onto dead cells. The oatmeal exfoliation is probably a good thing for me.
