What happened to vegweb.com's message boards? I was happy over there! I am glad to see some of the others over here now.
It makes it less scary!

Well, here is a brief intro. I am 23, full time student (psych major) who works on the weekends, lives with a 20 pound cujo kitty, strict vegan (no bone-sugar, no artificial crap and I eat organic), I love cosmetics/fashion (I am usually the first person contacted when looking for new vegan products), I spend to much money on Sanrio stuff and I love raisins!

Ohh ya....what is a muffcake you might ask yourself...no it is not a new porn title...it is a muffin-cake! A muff cake.

hi muffcake,

i was only a very new vegweber when their boards were closed, so its not been to bad for me. i sympathize though. you would have thought that vegweb would have given some more and advanced notice to its users. i could have missed something on the front page, but...really it was only in the matter of a few days between posting on there and then coming back and finding it gone.

more peeps is a good thing
. this solution is better than just branching off into a completely new forum. as for why, i would imagine it was for management reasons. i'm sure if you mailed any of the people behind vegweb they would be happy to explain. speculating isn't a good habbit of mine...heh.

anyhow. welcome!

Thanks everyone! I am happy to see some names from vegweb and some new friendly faces!

Veganchick...with warmer spring/summer coming up I hopefully will get to try out more raw recipes and post them. Right now my raw choices are still mainly in the snack catagory...I am a fan of mono meals...It seems the more complex things get they contain nuts. As you remember I am allergic to nuts. I say 98% of all those yummy sounding premade vegan raw treats contain nuts.

I am off to eat raisins...Ohh I am also craving a ABC pumpkin spice cookie so one of those to after dinner!
They taste good mixed with raisins. I should use the Chef Deb recipe for the pumpkin cookies and add raisins...I just never have cooking/baking time!

muffcake,

I finally received my dehydrator and am planning to play with it this weekend. I will let you know if anything I make turns out well.
Also, wanted to let you know there are a couple of raw food threads under the Health forum (I think
, it's still early.) Hope to see you around.

Hi. I was also a newbie on the vegweb, so I will just have to start over again here. I'm so anxious to get to know everyone, and to get more ideas. I guess I am approaching 2 months of being veggie, and even though I do make a lot of vegan substitutions, I am taking it one step at a time. I have been having a lot of success with making vegetarian and even vegan meals for my family. I would say they have replaced 4-5 dinners per week, and I am happy with that so far! I am soooooooo ready for fresh, local organic produce...we lived on the stuff last summer, and I just loved what a difference it makes. Living in PA, I have to get what I can from a co-op all winter long...better than nothing! I'm looking forward to talking to you guys...e-mail me anytime. LISA [email protected]
