Hi from an Australian vegetarian. Have been a veggie for over 2 years now and I just recently gave up all dairy and eggs as well.

I am currently stuck in vet school and *really* looking forward to graduating at the end of next year. After which time I will probably end up with my house over run by animals as I want to try and rescue some from a factory farm life and let them live out their days in happiness. My partner is getting a little worried at all my talk of the sheep, pigs, chickens, cows and horses I would like to save!

Hi! Welcome to VB!

Just tell your parter that you could do worse things in life than save some animals from being butchered and eaten...

Hi!

Hey, means vet school that you study it to become a vet or a vets helper? I did some internships as helper in a vets clinic when i did my education for alternative healing and thought, i´d prefer to work on animals... as i am very cynical towards a lot of people... but already i am finished now on helping "human animals" ;D

Where in Australia are you? I will be there from january trying to stay as long as i find work - so at least 3 months and maximum 12.

But for the first welcome here and maybe you see my posts in the australian part here :)

love, dolores

Heya Dolores - Yep I am studying to be a vet - plan to go into equine practice when I finish but I'll see what happens. I could not be a human doctor though as like you I am cynical towards human animals!

I am living in Perth (western australia) atm while I am at uni, but I am from Melbourne in Victoria originally and will be going back there when I graduate. Australia is a great place to come and work/travel around, I am sure you will love it!

Good one animallover that's great! At vet school I see so many animals I want to give a good home to - atm there is the most gorgoeus orphan lamb that I really want to save from a bad fate.
