Hi all. I am a few weeks into vegetarianism !! It was a long time coming and then I finally snapped lol.

I guess I would be called a Pesco-vegetarian.

I do eat:

Fish

Cheese

"modified milk ingredients"

I do not eat: (simply by choice/preference)

Milk (yuck)

Gelatin (Nasty, boiled skin and tendons... yum)

Eggs (simply can't stand the thought of it)

Rennet (again, yuck)

I Have been struggling to find food that I like. I have a weak stomach and I have a nack for imagining gross stuff about the food I'm eating WHILE eating it. I do not like nuts/beans. I can sqeeze down some firm tofu but I really have to be doing something while I eat it to take my mind off it. I started out Vegan but realized that with a 7 year old son and both of our likes/dislikes, it was clear that Vegan is out of the question for us, although I highly respect it.

I have always had to fight meat down my throat but it was'nt until I realized how many of these animals are treated that it was a done deal for me. I'm far from being a spokesperson for animals rights, however as a decent person I could never eat animals again after knowing what I know now. I guess the "Mya Angelou, when you know better you do better" thing apllies to me.

Anywho, I hope to learn from this gathering place and I hope to give someday too !!

Cheers !!
