As far as I am aware, Ryan Gosling is definitely not a vegetarian or a vegan. He's talked in interviews about eating chicken and all he's ever done for animals is write the odd letter to KFC or McDonalds asking them to slaughter the chickens "humanely". Let's not make him out to be someone he is not, at least create a meme for someone who is actually vegan like Casey Affleck.

I don't know who made it but I'm pretty sure it was just meant to be funny and not a statement about Gosling himself

I gather this person is supposed to have some sort of unpopular reputation in radicalist circles or something by the link above. I've never heard of him honestly.

The "hey girl" meme actually began because Ryan is a supporter of things like homebirth, attachment parenting, and breastfeeding. Basically he's a "crunchy" kind of guy. Since it started it's now started taking turns down other "crunchy" paths like this new vegan one. Previous poster is correct that Gosling isn't vegan and I'm pretty sure not vegetarian. But I still have been loving this meme ever since the first one I saw about homebirth

Sorry for the double post! But nope, quite the opposite
. He supports a lot of "radicalist" things and some women found that sexy and the meme was born. Oh, and he's an actor...plays the main guy in The Notebook.

Some of the comments portray him as anti-feminist and things. That's why I asked. It's sort of odd to make a joke like that if it's not based on an actual perception.

Also, there's no need to put quotation marks around the word radicalist. That's not some label I slap on people - it's an actual sociological term that literally applies to certain types of thought and activism.

I put the quotation because of some of the things he supports not fitting into that definition, not because I thought you meant it to equate with the word extremist or because I didn't think the word was fitting
. For instance he's very pro-breastfeeding, but breastfeeding doesn't generally fall (from the little knowledge I have on the subject, so correct me if I'm wrong) into that category/definition.

I thought that he must have said something negative at first too, but nope...it all apparently started because people thought he was hot and thought his support of alternative parenting/birthing was hot so they started the meme. There's a book called something like "porn for moms" where it's pictures of hot guys saying things like, "honey I washed all the dishes and took out the trash while you were taking a relaxing bath." I think that was more the jist of the Ryan Gosling thing
