I am having a hard time finding a proper dose of vitamin 12 in pharmacies here. I managed to find one but it has other B vitamins in it. Could you more advanced members check if this is an okay thing to take regularly?

B1 - 50mg
B2 - 50mg
B6 - 50mg
B3 - 50mg
B12 - 50mcg
Folic Acid - 400mcg
Biotin - 50mg
P.A.B.A - 50mg
Colina (???) - 50mg
Inosiltolo (???) - 50mg

the last 2 ingredients are in italian, no idea what they are. Is there anything in this supplement that I shouldn't be taking regularly?

SwissMiss: I live in Switzerland too, and I always have a stock of Veg1 which I order from the Vegan Society in the UK. The details on the product are here: http://www.vegansociety.com/ (click on "Shop On-Line and then on "Supplements". This is really in my opinion the very best supplement that any Vegan can want.

A box last for three months.

I always order a lot when I order because I then distribute them to my vegan friends in Switzerland.

I will gladly send you a box (or two) if you send me your postal address by Private Message and you can send me the money either by mail in an envelope or by bulletin de versement to my postal account. Due to good rates of exchange at present between the pound sterling and the Swiss Frank, it only costs 8 francs.

Of course, if you don't live too far from my area (Geneva/Lausanne area), we could even meet up!

No that looks fine. You can't really overdose on B vitamins, though a whole lot more choline than that can give tension headaches, as it has an effect on muscle tone. Any excess you take but don't need gets excreted in your urine, and this can also cause your urine to take on a very bright yellow to yellow-green tint, which is nothing to worry about either.

Yay!! I'm glad to be able to help out. I sent you a Private message in answer to yours, but it's not in my Sent items. I hope it got to you alright. Maybe I pressed the wrong button.

yea B vitamins are water soluble, so you can't overdose, but that's why you should dose daily. pretty much any dose of b12 you can find is probably ok, have heard other sources just say take the smallest dose you can find.

You may want to check soymilk and cereal labels to see if they're fortified with B12. My soymilk is 50% RDA b12, and my cereal 30% a serving. I also use nutritional yeast with b12.
I've read a study which suggests smaller daily amounts are absorbed better than larger amounts. I can't say I understood it very well as it was pretty scientific.

I've been wanting to ask this for a while: I'm taking a supplement with 3 micrograms daily, is that enough?
