I have started a petition to help change Morningstar and Boca into vegan companies. It will take a lot of work but I think they can change. Please boycott their products and sign my petition. We can make a difference and all I need is a few minutes of your time. Please sign it and encourage others to sign it as well!http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/boy...ingstar-farms/

Yeah, boycotting would just come across as showing there's no vegan market, and then they'd discontinue current vegan products and not make anymore specially vegan products. It's better to increase demand for the vegan things. I didn't even know boca had non vegan things, all the products around me are vegan. Morningstar can be more frustrating, but they have some vegan ones that are good, too, just not as many as boca.

I've been boycotting Morningstar for years because the promised to stop using eggs in many of their products and make them vegan. In less than a year, they did the exact opposite and eliminated many of their vegan products and replaced them with non-vegan ones. They would have to do something stellar to get me to go back to them. Probably won't happen, though.

As for your petition, I will sign it.

Dr. McDougall says don't eat pretend meats anyway. I get the tofu sausages at the grocery store because they are quick and easy. They are vegan. I eat them when I want something warm to eat and need it in a couple of minutes. On certain days of the week my schedule is tight.

I was so upset when this happened, too, and don't buy anything from them.

And I don't worry about me and my family using mock meats in moderation; my adult daughter is omni, so of course I am happy when she eats them.

I tried a product of theirs once (can't even remember which one) and pretty much decided it tasted like crap - I'm not going to expect the fake meat to taste like real meat, but you know, edible would be nice...maybe I'm too picky?

Anyways, I don't boycott them, really, not intentionally at least - I just make my own vegan meals, and freeze them if I know I'm going to need something quick. Processed foods of any kind, be they omni or veg*n, just can't compare to real food.

Yeah, anything that is super processed really isn't that great, vegan or not. I tend to stay away from a lot of soy, myself - it's so easy to overdo soy on a vegan diet, and forget that it should really just be one part of a balanced diet.

(That being said I did sign.)

Thank you to everyone out there who has signed it! Please we CAN make a difference! It is good to encourage them to offer more vegan products buy why do that when we can veganize them. Seriously send them a short letter. I know I did and they tried to be helpful. We are sending more of a message by telling them exactly why we will boycott them until they change rather than just going along with what they do and buying what fits our needs. I think that 64 signatures for a few days is great but let's do more! spread the word and help veganize the world!

Sorry, but like many others, I'm not interested in boycotting all Morningstar Farms and Boca products. Boca already makes a ton of vegan stuff -- let's show them that we appreciate their vegan products and wish that they would convert the remaining non-vegan ones. I wish Morningstar Farms would make more vegan things, but that's not going to stop me from buying their riblets and a few other vegan items. Letter writing is a great idea, but I do think we should continue to support these companies that make vegan items that can be purchased at many mainstream grocery stores by purchasing their vegan products.

You should because if we all did it at the same time it would make a difference. It would show them that if they don't change we will move on to other companies such as gardein. If we all joined together once we wouldn't have to ever do it again

Sorry, Gardein isn't available in a lot of grocery store near me. It costs more, and I like several Boca and Morningstar Farms products better.

I don't see why we should boycott the vegan products -- I don't see any reason why it would be effective. You know that vegans only make up a small percentage of their customers and are unlikely to make a very big difference in their profits. Most people who buy their stuff are omnis trying to cut calories or fat.
