i am a (fairly) athletic vegan training for a half-marathon. i run about 23 miles a week and speed walk another 20 or so and supplement with yoga. unfortunately, my lower belly isn't noticing. i've a layer of fat that is- er - persistent. i am also bloated a lot. i've read that this probably has to do with my diet, which is pretty good - no processed foods, super high in fiber (maybe that's why i'm bloated?), seasonal, low in carbs, no refined flours or refined sugar. the only things i can think to eliminate is my beloved dried fruit. i do eat a lot of it. i do also enjoy a glass of wine here and there. i'm guessing the sugars in these items aren't helping me. i probably need to drink more water than i do, too.

do you have any other ideas on how to reduce this troublesome belly fat? any foods to avoid? foods to eat? what's worked for you?

(i have reviewed previous posts regarding exercises targeting belly fat and those discussions don't need to be addressed again here. just looking for nutrition advice. thanks.)
