We are going to dinner with my husbands family and they chose Tepanyaki. I called to see what they would have for vegetarians and the girl was nice but hesitant and told me about a few items. They don't have much. Has anyone been there, is it nasty? I went there years ago before becoming vegetarian and remember it just being okay.

Advice?

We go frequently. Our place is great about preparing mine before putting any animal on the grill.

Why is this thread in the CA forum? Where is this restaurant, and what kind of restaurant is it? You have to give more information than just the name if you want advice.

I've moved this thread to the Vegetarian Support Forum, which is the sub-forum designated for questions and such about being a vegetarian. I think more people will read it there.

What is Tepanyaki? Is that a Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you? Often those places have vegetarian entrees.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at a teppanyaki/hibachi restaurant-we had probably half a dozen vegetarians there. They will almost always have a vegetable choice. It's really tasty! I personally don't mind my food being cooked on the same space as meat, but if you do, I am sure the cook will be able to accommodate your request : )

Looks like a typical Asian grill place...just ask if they'll clean the grill before they cook your food, and looks like you'll find lots of veg.
