Hi! I am from NY, I am currently out of work due to an injury but usually work as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor. I have been vegetarian for about 2 years and eat Vegan most of the time, excepting for the occasional Cheese Pizza. Workin on droppin that too!

I have two grown kids, one Cat and am also a Wildlfe Rehabilitator. I have become a pretty decent Vegan Cook and am happy to find this board.

thanks for the welcome. I actually do it on a very small scale from home but also help out at a facility near me. I have only been licensed for a short time and hope to, in the not too distant future, get a new home with more acreage so I can do it totally from home

thanks everyone. Yes, I see alot of birds here. We are not far from a wildlife Refuge so we see alot of migratory birds and we have alot who stay around, too. At the Reserve we have 3 active Bald Eagle nests as well. One is where the public can use spotting scopes to watch the nest, which does have eggs this year. Last year the eggs disappeared overnight so this is exciting as they are due to hatch in just a few days!!

I only have an acre here so that is why I am looking for a house with more land.

Most of what we see are owls, gulls, geese and other waterfowl as well as raccoon, porcupine, groundhog,a few coyote, grey and red fox, the facility has a pretty cool skunk and a groundhog that is about 15, sometimes there are whitetail deer and always alot of opossum and rabbits. Alot are rehabed and the ones that can't be released are either kept at the facility and used to educate people, or, released to other facilities for the same and just live out their lives.

by the way, with_open_eyes, that is a great owl pic!!!!!

You're right, alpaca guy, there is next to nothing on them on the net, other than hunting. If you get a change to see a program about them on discovery channel, it is great. they rerun it all the time and is loaded with all kinds of info and the video footage is great.

I suspect this should be on another thread, but what do you want to know and where should I put the thread?
