hi, im new here. i recently made the desision to give up all animal products. i am 24 years old. i am from imnnesota, and i have been married to my husband for almost three years. i also have a wonderful daughter who is six.

i didn't eat meat for about two years when i was younger, until my mom said she would sit on me and make me eat a turkey sandwich. i wasn't eating a healthy diet and she was worried. now im on my own and decided to be vegan this time. i read somewhere that a vegetarian saves 83 people a year. when i saw the iraqui people fighting so they could get thier rations, it gave me an extra push.

a little bit of everything, i guess for one its my protest against corprate america for putting chemicals and crap in our food and making us a fat nation, for two eating meat is wasteful, you can feed way more people growing grains and such, and most importantly eating meat, milk etc just isn't necsisary

I thought it was 'the average number of lives a vegetarian saves in one year: 83'.

It's on a shirt I'm going to order soon from Pangea. I wonder if they mean people or animals??? Does anyone know???

Welcome,

Minnesota is a beautiful state. You also have some nice mountain bike trails up there. However, it is the only state I've been to where they openly make fun of the way they talk. I saw a few store names spelled out like some people talk. It was funny, but weird at the same time (like sharing MN roads with snowmobiles). Also, it's a little cold up there. Can you do something about that?

Congratulations on your new lifestyle choice. I hope you enjoy your stay.
