Hey, lonely vegan here. Ive been lurking for a couple of weeks and thought Id join in. Ive only just become a vegan about two weeks ago, but have been a vegetarian for over a year. Anyway, not knowing any other vegans/vegetarians, excepting my brother and his friends, who live on the other side of the country, I decided to check out some message boards and thus ended up here. *waves*

But hello and welcome! I'm mostly vegan and I live outside of Richmond, in Chesterfield County. Yes, it gets a bit lonely here in the Old Dominion...VB is a good place to be.

Yeah, it is nice to have someone I can talk to at least, even if he does live very far away. Actually my brother is the one who turned me to veg*nism. He became a vegan about two years ago and sent me the book "Diet for a New America," I read a couple of chapters and stopped eating meat immediately.

Oh and I forgot my sister-in-law (married to my other brother, an omni) and one of my cousin-in-laws are also vegetarians, but they live in Ohio.

So yeah, at least when I get together with my family, I usually have a few more options and no one treats me like I'm a weirdo.
