Hello to everybody

I am new here so just to introduce myself;

I am from Serbia, and here it is very hard to be vegan, cause there are not so many products available in supermarkets

Anyway, I am rellatively new to vegan food (four months), still, I have learned some tips and recepies....

Welcome to VB!

If you have difficulty finding vegan replacements in the markets, then my advice is to concentrate on "whole" foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. These should take up most of your diet anyway. If you cannot find milk replacers such as soya or rice milk, then maybe you can make your own. I think there may be intructions somewhere on VB on how to do it.

Welcome!

Can you get lentils there? They are easy to prepare (since you don't really need to soak them for hours and hours like beans and chickpeas) and still contain lots of protein.

What sort of foods do you usually eat?

Thanks for your replies!

Now here is the season for tasty vegetables - there are all kind of delicious pepers, also shpinat, eggplant, zuccini....Mostly, I enjoyed fresh many-colors salads toped with olive oil; For milk, I have (thanks to my very dear friend from US) soymilk maker, eggs I do not use in recepies at all, or replace them. I also like to consume tofu (sometimes make my own), particularly smoked tofu, seitan and soy products. I like very much chinese recepies, I have bought wok from chinese market. There are some traditional recepies from here that are totally vegan, yet simple, like pasta with potatoes ( mushpotateos coocked wih anions and red peper powder) and pasta with cabbage. Usually I use whole wheat pasta.
