Hi,
I'm Moein, a student a blogger from IRAN. I heard something about vegetarians about 4 years ago and I didn't have any view about it at that time! but 9 Months ago, I read an article about raw-eating in the website of an Iranian different Doctor!, Dr. Khorsand and I comprehended history Background and scientific reasons about it. after that, I read more and more articles and books about vegetarianism and raw-eating, and although I didn't become a vegetarian, but I apply that information in my daily life, for example after that I understood that's better if we eat fruits with empty stomach, or we should eat Salads everyday while before that we ate Salads rarely! also I use Olive oil everyday with Salad and I think that's very delicious.
I apply my information in my life and suggest it to my family members and we got goos results and some aches became disappear...
but about 2 Months ago, I read an e-book from Arshavir Avansian, who is the founder of raw-eating in IRAN and this book was published 35 years ago in IRAN! although nothing is perfect and I think some said things in this books haven't nice and enough reasons, but it was very useful because it shows a solution that how remain healthy and have a long life, while help to solve the food problem in the world with raw-eating and remove hunger, plus save our money for a better life because we don't pay much money for medical after raw-eating! this is the best solution to remain healthy and make a better world...
unfortunately at this time I can't be a vegetarianism, because in IRAN it's not popularized yet, but I and my family use more vegetarian foods and less meats, although we used little meats at any time. I want to become a full-vegetarian in future...
I think everyone has chance to determine his/her food diet, but it should not harm to environment and others. for example, if anyone want to use meats, that's better if he/she use hormone-free meats which are better and more healthy while it hasn't bad effects on animals and environment.

I want to see a better world, so I try to make a better world as much as I can. I think that all people in all nations are equal together and if we solve the food problem completely, there is no reason to War. Friendship is very valuable (and perhaps the most valuable thing in society) and we should pay more attention to it if we want to see a better world...

thank you very much for reading my introduction.

Best Wishes,
Moein

I want to remain a Vegan and I hope I can continue my Veganism in each situation, even in parties with my friends!

Wow. I didn't know vegetarianism was well-known in Iran. It sounds like you and your family have been making excellent choices to improve their health by reducing animal products and increasing fruits and veggies. Good for you!

Welcome to VB! I hope we can help you become completely vegetarian.

It's really good to see that vegetarianism is gaining ground in Iran. Incidentally, I posted about this (well, veganism) just a few months ago.

yeah. of course on the basis of historical texts, we can see that in ancient Persia (before Islam) Iranian people were used from fruits & vegetables very much everyday...
but unfortunately after that some setbacks occured in IRAN's history and the suitable feeding forgot. Arshavir Avansian wasn't vegetarian from his childhood, but in 53, he became raw-eater because his 2 children was died before that and after a short time he read a book about vegetarianism from a German author. after that, he became a raw-eater...

we have a few vegetarian restaurants & forums in IRAN (like www.veganforum.ir), but it need to more popularize. at this time, Fast foods are popularized in IRAN! and also other situations in IRAN are bad for people. you know that our country is in global boycott at this time, and this have very bad effects on people make life very hard for people. people are depressed in IRAN...

I think vegetarianism should be more popularized in 3rd world countries and perhaps in all countries, and it's possible with forums such this and also explain about it in blogs...
