I know there are other threads about what to get at Costco, but I can't find them and I'm in a bit of a rush. If I or somebody else can find an older thread, I'll be happy to merge that one with this one at a later time.

Anyway, a couple days ago I found amongst my stuff the January 2011 issue of Costco Connection magazine, with a special section on being healthy for the new year. There is an article about new foods at Costco, and they're all good stuff. If you have access to a Costco (most of the stores are in the US, but they also have stores in the UK, Canada, one in Australia, and a whole bunch in Asia), it might be worth it to buy a membership, if you don't already have one, so you can get this stuff in bulk.

http://www.costcoconnection.com/conn...01/?pg=39#pg75

If you have trouble accessing the link, what I did was:

googled Costco Connection January 2011

clicked on the table of contents link

clicked on the article for page 78

used the back arrow on the page to click back to page 75

Increased the font to see the text

items now available at Costco are:

agave nectar
quinoa
steel-cut oats
acai berries
flax
spelt

each item listed in the article has a description of what it is, how nutritious it is, and what you can do with it.

That's where I get my soymilk (Silk DHA Omega 3 in the refrigerated section and a case of 12 cartons of shelf stable plain soymilk) and quinoa.

Do some costco's have Gardein? Mine doesn't. They have vegan Boca burgers, and Don Lee Farms Veggie Patties (in the refrigerated section). I also buy vanilla extract, nuts and dried fruit there.

I do have the shelf-stable soymilk from Costco (Kirkland brand), but I don't like it very much. It is too sweet/vanilla-y tasting for me, so I only use it when I've run out of refrigerated unsweetened soymilk.

I get the plain and it is still so sweet. I really wish they had unsweetened! I get it because my kids will go through a lot of it and it's organic and a really low price.

I thought the Aussies on VB would be interested to know the following news: Costco is planning to open new stores in both Sydney and Canberra in 2011.

http://www.costco.com.au/Auburn/index.shtml
