This conversation came up at work one day. I mentioned that I think it's gross, but mostly everyone else thought it was ok, considering the things that go on during moments of 'intimacy'. I just think sharing a toothbrush is in a different category altogether. So I was wondering what other VBers thought about it. Have you/Do you/Would you share a SO's toothbrush?

I would NEVER do such a thing. There are times that I look at my OWN toothbrush and get disgusted (and throw it out and start a new one). Sharing somebody else's toothbrush is one of the most unsanitary things you can do.

I think I did once before. The only time I could imagine needing to use my SO's toothbrush would be if we were traveling and I forgot mine or something like that (and couldn't buy a new one, like when you're camping). I'd rather share than not brush my teeth at all.

i'd share if i had to. i always try to make sure to have an extra brush or two on hand, though. you do bring up a good point about the intimacy thing. if you're fine sucking face with someone then you'd be okay sharing a toothbrush if you had to.

I wouldn't. It's come up once (my bf asked if he could use my toothbrush, since he hadn't brought his own), but I declined firmly. Whenever I find myself without one, I just use my fingers.

Chance and I really don't have a problem with it. I'm kind of anal about toothbrushes too so I scrub them both down with soap regularly. I've already got whatever is living in his mouth so his germs don't bother me.

I shared with my SO once out of necessity. But I know she doesnt have HepC so I was cool with it. I love her girl germs anyway.

I find it totally wierd but he'll just grab my toothbrush without even thinking about it. It's odd and I don't really like it but I don't care. I tend to change out our toothbrushes every month or so anyway so... whatever. He does the same thing with my towel. We don't butt heads on too many issues cause we usually just let things like this go

I know it's sorta irrational, but sharing a toothbrush is icky.

My husband and I have shared a few times simply because one of us forgot to bring a toothbrush. It's not something I would do on a regular basis, though.
