Copied from my post here, though I felt it could probably use it's own thread in case someone has the info but doesn't look in the SFP threads. (I posted it the US forum but it wouldn't show up for some reason, so I put it under Illinois simply because that's where I'm at)

This is the first time any of us ever heard of the Color Run, and depending on what local charity is chosen, we're going try and get together a large group of people to join in. Also, depending on what the ingredients of the color is, I may or may not be joining it as well.

So, has anyone in or near Phoenix, Orlando, Charlotte, Nashville, NYC, D.C., Boise, Portland, San Fran, Twin Cities area, Kansas City, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Atlanta, So Cal area, Las Vegas, Dallas, Austin, or any other place that has hosted a Color Run participated in the Color Run? Or more importantly, has any vegans participated in it? Even more importantly, has any vegan contacted them about what the color is made of? Most importantly, has any vegan who contacted them about what the color was made of received an answer?

Since the color is "a special “elf made” recipe of magical color dust" I have my doubts they will actually give me a list of the ingredients, but I had asked if the color had any ingredients sourced from animals, such as silk or carmine, so hopefully I'll get an answer. This sounds really fun. If and when I get an answer from them, I'll be sure to post it here, in case anyone else wants to know.

Edit: Moved to vegan subforum.

I heard about it and I'm thinking of doing it. Looks like fun

Edit: his thread should be in the fitness or vegan section, not in Illinois.

This looks really, really fun. The DC one is in September. I might try and get some friends to do it...

You may want to move this to the Physical Fitness section...

The run is fun, but I participated b/c I thought I was helping a charity. I'll never do it again. Now I find out that over $600,000 was taken in in revenues and only $25K went to charity! The charity had to work for weeks recruiting hundreds of volunteers for the event. I call that USING a charity to make money for a corporation! Exploitation at its finest.

Oh that just sucks. This looks super fun. Can you link to any other evidence of exploitation from the color run people? I got all excited about it and started looking at NJ/NYC dates and then I saw this post. :(
