Hi, my name is Julie (but PG is also peachy
).

I cut out red meat months ago and almost all chicken in the past few weeks, and yesterday I decided to take the plunge and "officially" become a vegetarian
I'm very excited. I will actually be almost vegan, since I'm lactose intolerant and hate the taste of eggs. However, I can still (and may or may not) eat some cheese products.

Thankfully most of my family is supportive, my mom has been a pescetarian for years, and my sister is considering becoming a vegetarian as well (she is hung up about getting enough protein, which I keep assuring her will not be an issue.)

Anyway, nice to meet you peoples, I am looking forward to using this forum

Welcome Julie!

I'm from Columbus. Nice to see another Ohioan here!

Congratulations on your new diet!

I was pretty much at were you are now for a number of years; vegan except for cheese (milk is gross and I think I'm allergic to eggs). I'm vegan now. If you need any recipe, just PM me!I'd be happy to give you some recommendations!

Hello! My handle is Niur and I'm a new vegetarian as well. I made the switch a few months ago. My husband is vegan. (He's Rotoshave, you'll see him around.) Welcome to VB! If you need any recipes, or just a chat, let me know. We're all friendly here.

Welcome, PonyGirl!
That's great that you're vegetarian now and it sounds like if you ever decide to become fully vegan you'll be well prepared! I'm a very new vegan and I still miss cheese sometimes, so I don't blame you for not giving it up. :p
