Hello there everyone! I am a vegetarian of about three months now, choosing to go back to it after ten years of eating meat. Before that, my entire family were all vegetarian, although occasionally pescetarian, until I was about twelve years old. I would say in the last six or seven years in the UK there has been an enormous crusade by television chiefs to show where food comes from, with the intention of showing children ethical and non-ethical farming, and more importantly, where their food comes from. In my case, this didn't so much relieve my townie lack of knowledge, rather compressing it into one of disgust and horror. For a long time I was thinking about what to do, and stopping myself because I live with my family, who are all still carnivores. But I took the step, told them, and found that they were all actually very supportive. I don't miss meat, and actually I want to strive to be vegan, because for me dairy products are a much bigger challenge, and something I feel just as strong, if not stronger about. Hopefully being amongst a forum like this will help me to achieve that
