Dear all,

I am a 27 years old french citizen teaching and living living in Sweden, and I have been a vegetarian for about 7 years now.

I have found this forum via Wikipedia, and decided to partake in the fun and frollicks with you all.

I am also a marathon runner and a triathlete, and I am hoping to "meet" some like minded people on this forum.

Hello and welcome to VeggieBoards!

So you found VB from Wikipedia? Was it the link on Vegetarian Cuisine? Hm, it would be cool if we had our own entry on Wikipedia ...

Hope you'll like it here!

Thank you all for your answers !

If one types "vegetarian food" on Wikipedia's english version (link below), you will find this forum on top of the list as the first external link, I assumed from this that I could find reliable info here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarian_food

Banksy is a great artist as you say Black Heart and his work never leaves you without a clear cut opinion !

My honest (& summarized but NOT compromised) REVIEW of VB welcoming... for your gaze.... and any newbies gaze.

VB is fairly good at responding stuff (if lucky too) which is popular stuff, whilst on uneven trend or stint, other threads not so popular or not as obvious, can go dormant for weeks or months.. (largely depends what the subject is and who is around to answer & take interest-- pretty much a common rule net-wide!!), sooo simple solution is often you will need to start your own threads to get maximum attention... And reliability as on any forum varies and is typically randomized by nature (not always consistent but too much order is boring) and answers/ quality of contribution you get depends on the thought a person puts into their post ETC. The Community & people here themselves though are about as reliable as any group of people you could hope for but that doesn't always guarantee they are supportive 100% or in stop gaps may appear not always there for you to provide what you need when you need it (hence best to have your own threads if something is real important to make any concerns stand out better, gaining more the answers and shares you might want).

Friendships made here I find are not always easy, but once people know you are genuine like I request of my VB friends, then you can soon start to make some.

Friendliness in general is not the best in the universe I think....ie, not quite outstanding and not always charitable...but most people are amenable and very few are harsh. Instead what tends to moreso is that generally most are willing to help you on many subjects (people who are person people and who like to help when they have the time, so this makes VB's work on being as friendly as possible a work of endeavour always)....soooo I THINK (without glorfiying too much favor of self-bias to my long experience here on VB) always there is room for improvement I think on VB....<< Something I would say anyway as its a good general principle to want to improve and never stop improving...

People are friendly for the large part, if you want just is just general socializing, BUT friendliness proper (or on more personal basis such as thru pms) could require some work I find on VB as far as "the boards" anyway, mainly for the reason that I sometimes wonder what is friendly to some people?? (inlcusive of the fact no everyone can possibly get along) ALSO: How far does one go to be friendly also!! (these sorts of questions)

However there is noone particularly 'mean' here and rarely is there anyone nasty. (apart from trolls but they are dealt with swiftly and are seldom seen therefore).

welcome Zatopek, besides all & despite which, nevermind if you wish, don't worry about me, I'm just venting my spleen so excuse my impromptu prognosis of general status on VB above....

I hope I was not offputting or confusing in issuing a welcome statement. It may turn out false bits of WHAT I THINK, and things may turn out better here than maybe you forsee, but whatever you DO, whatever you WANT you can be safe and be welcome by all and enjoy the boards...That is certain!!

Its all in how you use a place.... (its what you make it/ a messasge we all need to remind ourselves of on VB in my EXREMELY HUMBLE opinion)

ps,

one very big plus point on VB is its a HUGE BIG PLAYER SOCIALLY (possibly the biggest)

and as such never runs out of posters or posts and hopefully in among, there SHOULD BE

something *new* always!!... (whether that works in practice is a directive for ALL its users either as individuals/ "banded interests"/ effective grouping of topics, and links, etc, all at the behest of a "good willed" community co-operation which VB usually is or at least strives to be )
