Hi!! How are you doing? I just wanted to introduce myself. My name's Miriam and I'm 27 years old. I've been a vegetarian for 10 years (vegan at home, vegetarian in society if necessary).

I live in Murcia (Spain). It's really tough being veggie in Spain but at least fruits, vegetables and legums that grow in this area are really delicious.

I'm a teacher and I love travelling. I enjoy simple things: reading books, walking in the country...

I've lived in other countries in Europe such as Latvia or UK, but I'm here because I'm really keen on meeting vegetarian/vegan people around the world.

See you

Hi Keira and welcome to VB!

I've been wanting to go to mainland Spain on holiday some time. I've been to Grand Canaria and Majorca, but that was ages ago long before I became vegetarian and vegan. Where did you live in the UK? I live in Oxfordshire.

I lived in Dundee, Scotland
What cities would you like to visit? Where I live there are a lot of british people, you know, sun beach... If you're looking for a cultural trip I recommend you Granada, Barcelona and Madrid. If you finally come here tell me If I can help you with some advices about how to survive in Spain being veggie
Cheers

I've been wanting to visit Barcelona, but maybe also some places in the south. I'm actually not British myself, and certainly not looking to go somewhere in Spain where I risk running into a lot of Brits
(They don't have the best holiday-in-Spain reputation, you know
)

Welcome! I've been hoping to take a trip to Spain again soon too (with Indian Summer
). I've not been to the north at all, and we've talked some about taking the ferry to Santander/Bilbao, and I'd love to see Segovia as well. Barcelona was lovely, and so veg friendly! I'm hoping that I can convince IS to move there one day.

Do you have access to vegan substitutes like soyamilk, etc. in Murcia? Valencia seemed quite vegan friendly as well, but it's a bit bigger city I suppose.

Hi IamJen! Thank you very much for the welcome! Well, you just take IS to Barcelona and you'll see, no trouble to convince him
You'll have no problem finding vegan substitutes in Spain. Even in the smallest towns you can buy soya, almond or chufa milk (horchata), not forgetting tofu or soya yogurts and stuff. I strongly recommend you buying fruits and veggies in traditional markets, you will flip out about their taste. But just in tradicional markets not supermarkets with their tomato-medicine-taste. There are small shops called "HerboristerÃ*as" where you can find the most sofisticated vegan products. The main problem here is eating out but you can look on the Internet vegetarian restaurants. Good luck !!

Cuculain42 thank you for the welcome!!
