I think it comes down to Google not being able to know which sites collect sensitive information or do not. My only worry is that it will scare away those who are not tech savvy from sites that they otherwise may have benefitted from, otherwise a small warning that lets you know in the search itself may be a good idea in the long term, instead of looking at the url itself before clicking to see if https: is there.The SLL warning is a load of nonsense.
