it doesn't give an exact answer. you might want to call the company you got your glue from and just ask them.

I can't really help, and I'm sort of thinking aloud right now, but I wonder if shoes that are advertised as vegan are free from this so-called non-vegan glue. I never thought about this before.. and I didn't know that glues were made from animals.

Off to do some research! Thanks for posting this and getting me to think about it.

vegan shoes are vegan if they are advertised as such.

regular store: if the shoes are labeled "all manmade materials" there is a good chance they are vegan. if it simply says "synthetic upper" then the fabric is vegan but the glue is suspect.

I'm kind of surprised that people didn't realize glue was made from animals. It's a form of gelatin. Not all glue is made from gelatin though, Elmer's glue for example is completely synthetic.

Quote:

Are you sure? I was under different assumptions.

Elmer's is synthetic? Then I don't have a problem.

Quote:

The info I was able to find about Pritt sticks says it is polyvinyl, which I think is made from petroleum, so, not an animal product.

http://www.stamps.org/care/subp14.htm
