Some people are not fit to live. Read below.

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A man whose daughter was hit with a snowball by a group of girls returned to the scene and opened fire with a gun, critically wounding a 10-year-old youngster, police said.

Joseph Best, 32, was arrested Monday and jailed on charges including attempted murder.

The victim was in critical condition with a head wound.

Best's daughter was hit with a snowball as she and her friends walked past a group of girls having a "friendly snowball fight" Sunday, police Capt. Charles Bloom said.

A scuffle then broke out among the dozen or so girls, who ranged in age from 10 to 15. The groups soon parted ways, but Best returned with an older daughter and another brawl erupted, this time between adult relatives of both groups, Bloom said.

Police broke up that fight, but said Best came back again hours later, leaned out the passenger side of a moving car and fired at least five shots into the group of children still playing on the street. Authorities were trying to determine who was driving.

Police said the girl who was shot had been inside during the scuffles.

"This little girl had nothing to do with anything. She wasn't involved in the fight," Bloom said. "He just seemed to be randomly shooting into the crowd."

It could not be immediately determined Wednesday if Best had a lawyer.

When I read the caption I immediately thought about the scum as of late that's been temporarily infiltrating VB.

BTW, if there's any chlorine left over from that gene pool cleaning, can I have it? VB's front door needs the nasty germs cleaned off of it

Idiots like that guy in the story just add fuel to the fire in the gun law debates. It's really too bad some innocent kid(s) had to be the object of this nutcase's rampage.

My mum (age 70) is going to college to learn computers. During the snow over here she came out through the main college doors and shouted "Cease fire, grandmother coming out" And they did. Only, as she walked away she thought to herself, "I'm wearing a big felt hat with a 12" pheasant feather sticking out of it..." at which point a snowball hit her hat!

That guy has some serious problems. Faith in humanity is misplaced.

We had that over here a few weeks ago.

Kids threw snowballs at people and cars driving by.

One kid got shot in the head and died.

Shooter gone without a trace until yet.

The only thing they now is that s/he must be a criminal as "normal" people are not allowed to have guns.

*wry grin* 1vegan, do "normal people" automatically become "criminals" the minute they pick up or own a gun?

Oh, mis understanding.

I'm in Europe, people are not allowed to own a gun in the first place.

Exceptions are made but you have to get a permit.

Even then you get visited by police who will check if the gun is stored as it should be. (unloaded in a locked metal box)

Transport to and from the gun club is allowed.

Most "guns" here are rifles (hunters/shooting clubs).

A pistol is very very strange around here.

The "average" dutch will see someone with a gun as:

- a policeman

- a criminal.

* makes mental note not to refer to gun-owners as criminals on VB to often because situation in America is very different to Europe.

1vegan,

Sorry... I knew what you were saying, and I don't think I conveyed my sarcasm accurately. My fault!

No it's ok.

It's good when people correct me or put me in the right direction.

That way I'll learn.

It's good to learn, because if I don't the "culture difference" might lead to being insulting or offensive, and I don't want that.

(not intentionally)

In case you were wondering, 1vegan, I haven't seen you to be offensive or insulting at all. I also have to learn to take into account cultural differences. I firmly believe in adapting myself, not simply asking everyone else to adapt to me.

I was talking about cultural considerations.

It might take forever to understand the true meaning of that one.

Whatever, I'm just posting here to say that I realised you can't even buy mace here. (I guess mace is the same as pepperspray)

Mace is considered a illegal weapon here.

I can carry a pocket knife with a blade of almost four inch, but longer than that and there may be a big fine waiting for me.

Thank goodness I can carry mace on my keychain. I can't count the number of times I've been walking and had my finger square on the button.

You know, I think its a sad situation that so many women today have been made to feel so unsafe because of the lowlifes that are prowling around in our society that a weapon of some sort is needed "just in case".

I personally think these sexual predators who are convicted (with DNA identification) ought to just be executed outright and rid society of them altogether. Ahh, but that's an entirely new topic.
