A lot of people don't like these types of investigations like the recent E6 Cattle abuse undercover footage from MFA. This is the other side of the coin, from Gentle Barn, about this same incident. This is a far less graphic video about the rescue operation that saved several calves from this facility:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IkwE8tHBAs&feature=player_embedded

I drove from New York to Arizona and because of the route we took, we had to go through a small part of Texas. Even as little of Texas as I saw, it's my least favorite state that we've traveled through solely because we passed by cattle ranches and slaughterhouses. There's all this land and so much space out in Texas (at least the part I saw) and you see all this wide open land. Are the cows there? No. They're all crammed together in a small plot right off the road. Just tons and tons of them. And I was looking around wondering why they weren't allowed to roam around on all this open land and then we drove a little further and the smell hit me. I had never smelled anything like that before but I knew what it was right away from what my fiancee had told me before we even left on the trip. It doesn't smell like farm or manure or anything like that. It's the distinct smell of slaughterhouses and the cattle farms. It was disgusting. It put me in an entirely sour mood the whole rest of the way we drove that day.

I don't understand how people can drive by places like that and still eat meat and still pay money to keep these places running. Anyway, I don't mean to rant but just watching that video sort of took me back to when I was on the road and smelled that horrible smell. So I figured I'd share what I've experienced. I can tell you one thing, if I ever need to drive back to New York again, I won't be taking that same route. I'll be avoiding Texas.

Thanks. I feel the exact same way. I'd love to see this organization as well as Farm Sanctuary continue to grow and open up new chapters across the world.
