I have been having a really rough day and I just need someone to talk to and it seems that no one wants to listen. I just need to get everything out, but I don't know where to begin. It really sucks when you think you can trust people and then find out that you can't or when total strangers are mean to you for no apparent reason.<br><br><br><br>
I seriously just feel like curling up and crying....<br><br><br><br><br><br>

I'll listen. I felt like that the other day ( read my post for that, I don't want to hijack yours). Actually curling up and crying does help in some ways.

oh yeah I know what you mean. To avoid strangers being rude to you.. just be nice even though you're not in a good mood. They can help. Your attitude can reflect theirs.

Hiya Annikat, you are awesome! Anyone who has the discipline & confidence to do what you're doing deserves a gold medal <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":love:"><br><br><br><br>
Unfortunately, there are people in the world who hate to see discipline & confidence in others, so they lash out. The best response is to become <i>even more</i> disciplined & confident. Keep it up, and realize that the people in the world who matter will be inspired and motivated by what you're doing. The sourpusses can go suck an egg.<br><br><br><br>

Don't listen to anybody. Just listen to your body. I have managed to loose 56 pounds since March of last year without really going on a "diet". Yes, there have been times when I have eaten things I should not eat but so what? Also, people don't realize that when you first start out, you still have to (at least I did) incorporate some of the "bad foods" you were used to eating before, just not as much. Cut back slowly, that way you won't crave them as much. If you go cold turkey right away, you are more likely to fail because you feel deprived. two pounds a week may not seem like a lot because of TV shows such as The Biggest Loser where they loose up to 20 pounds in one week, but it really is a good number to strive for.

Dirty Whores!! I hate it when people do crap like that. Why do people think that negative reinforcement helps weight loss?? News Flash - it does nothing but make the situation worse.<br><br><br><br>

At least you can get it together to at least start a diet. I keep saying I'm going to and putting it off. Keep at it and nevermind the naysayers. I remember my ex bf telling me that once you get started to not stop, no matter how crappy you feel because thats the worst part and then it gets better, once you've got a routine going and the old habits are broken...Anyways, good luck! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/sunny.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":sunny:">

Some people are so miserable in their own lives they only way they can make themselves feel better is by putting themselves down. If I have a few minutes here or there I'll try to stop by and give you some supportive comments. Good luck.

Annikat, you're an inspiration. Like others above had said, people will attack you when they feel down about themselves. When they see you succeeding, they take it as a personal affront.<br><br><br><br>
The fact that you're documenting your journey publically shows that you're serious and driven.<br><br><br><br>
Keep this thread alive and let us know of your progress. A lot of VB members have successfully lost weight through vegetarian and vegan diets. Let us know when you need some specific ideas, and educate us when you discover your own!
