There might still be some benefit in fighting infection or cancer, however...<br><br><br><br>
They tried to do this study in such a way that the subjects would not know whether or not they were eating raw garlic. That must have been an interesting complication.

I eat garlic for many reasons other than reducing cholesterol. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D">

I always thought it's biggest benefit was supposed to be as a blood thinner or anti-inflammatory. I never heard anything about cholesterol.<br><br><br><br>
Garlic is awesome either way. (but not for cats.)

I have always heard the exact opposite...That garlic stimulates blood circulation like anything spicy does.. and breaks up the junk that is in clogged arteries so blood can flow more freely...therefore reducing cholesterol. That seems to make sense to me.<br><br><br><br>
Plus all the garlic supplements in health food stores are always labelled as cardiovascular supplements, which would correlate strongly with cholesterol health..<br><br><br><br>
