I found something interesting about one of the video game systems that came out recently (the Nintendo Wii). While it obviously does not replace outdoor activity, after playing it, I found it to give what one could call a little workout .

In particular, it was with the sports game that comes by default with the system. It actually requires you to be interactive wth the system(swinging, throwing, etc), and speed does actually make a difference. It has you imitate movements such as throwing a bowlong ball, swinging a golf club, a bat, or a tenins racket.

It was very easy to get used to the system and was quite fun. Have any of you had a chance to see a demonstration of this. I guess they got enough complaints from parents about children sitting in front of the television moving their thumbs and they finally did something about it.
