Sorry if I just started a thread already floating around somewhere, but after looking around and not seeing one (and finding like, what, 15 my chemical romance threads?) I had to start one. Judging from some of the avatars, there are atleast a couple of otaku out there...

What are you guys currently playing/reading/watching?

I'm going through withdrawals from having burned through 88 episodes of Bleach and 14 volumes of the Manga... I've been playing Star Fox Command for over a week now. Love it.

If this topic does exist, feel free to point me in the right direction.

Short answer? Both.

I haven't had much time lately, not nearly as much as I used to, so I'm behind on Bleach and Naruto, both of which I really enjoy.

Game-wise, I had to quit WoW because I just didn't have the time to play enough to justify the monthly fee, so I picked up Guild Wars instead just to fill the occasional MMO craving. I'm also looking forward to the Pet expansion pack for the Sims 2.

Not so much anime any more, though I will be going to an anime festival in a couple of weeks. I play way too many games. Achaea (a MUD www.achaea.com) is my most played, I used to play counterstrike a lot but got bored with that, I've just bought Battlefield 2 for my bloodlust quotient. Black and White and the latest Need for Speed are my other two latest purchases. I download and play an awful lot of games from places like www.abandonia.com and Home of the underdogs www.the-underdogs.info/. Great retro gaming right there.

I am. I think I started a topic on manga a year or two ago.

Anyway, right now I'm playing Tales of Legendia for the second time, it's a great game. For anime, I was watching Mermaid Forest (Rumiko Takahashi), but I haven't watched it in a couple of weeks, mostly since I've been busy. Before that, I watched Rumic Theatre and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which I highly recommend if you haven't seen it.

Mermaid Saga didn't last very long, but I really enjoyed reading the 4 or so volumes. Takahashi's work is always fun. I haven't heard of the other two you mentioned. I'll have to check them out.

edit:

Great retro gaming, huh? I'll be checking that out, too. I just had to (finally) face reallity and put my NES down. :/ I did find a really good NES rip-off system. Generation Nex... played even my most beaten up games in two, three tries max. pinkgodzillagames.com. (I also imported the Bleach game for DS there... should anymore Bleach/Nintendo fans stumble in).

I'm not much of a gamer, but I'm a huge anime and manga nut, especially the ones that are sappy and romantic. My faves include Sailor Moon, Kimagure Orange Road, and Maison Ikkoku.

If anyone's in the mood for a good laugh, I recommend reading Yotsuba and Azumanga Daioh.

I play a game every now and again, but I get bored of them before I get good at them (with the exception of some MMORPGs, but sadly I don't really like them to begin with). I also spent a bit on my car and bike (not the kind with pedals) so I haven't been able to upgrade this computer or buy a new one lately.

The boyfriend got me into World of Warcraft recently... it's quite fun! I've also been playing the new Super Mario Brothers for the nintendo DS. Other than that, I'm not much of a gamer.

And we watch a lot of anime. Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon, and Love Hina are some of my favorites. My boyfriend has a bit anime/manga collection though - I've been watching Getbackers with him, as well as Scrapped Princess.

Big on both... or at least until university sucked most every free minute time from my life.

I have 400g worth of stuff in my WOW mailbox about to expire and can't get it because "high bandwith" things are blocked via the schools internet portal. Sigh.

I'm into Morrowind at the mo (last couple of years) (my pc cannot run Oblivion) and usually play RPG's (not online) or football (soccer) management games, oh and Tiger Woods golf from a few years back on the ps2

I'm a very heavy gamer. This week I've played mostly Disgaea II and Guitar Hero. I've gotten a fair way through Starfox Command and I'm quite enjoying it, though less so than Starfox 64. I'm grabbing Rule of Rose in the next couple of days, a psychological horror game involving a group of sadistic preteen girls with erotic undertones (massive Pikmin ripoff).

46 days remain until Final Fantasy XII.

Come to think of it, I haven't got bored of Halo. Finished Halo and Halo 2 on Heroic, and got started on legendary but I have no X-Box, so when I went home it kind of killed that.

And I also watched one entire anime series. It hurt but I survived.

I was turned on to anime during college, when my geeky friends would take over the dorm lobby for anime night I don't know enough about it to speak intelligently on the topic, but I like to watch.

i am both otaku and a heavy gamer. i have been playing games well since i was two years old (not just mashing buttons like one would expect a toddler to), and i was featured in nintendo power magazine at age three. my favorite games are shin megami tensei (persona, persona II, nocturne, digital devil saga I and II) and nippon ichi (disgaea: hour of darkness, disgaea II: cursed memories, phantom brave, la pucelle tactics, makai kingdom). by sept. 11 i had spent 96 hours on cursed memories, which i picked up on 8/30. i hope to cosplay serizawa ulala from persona II at anime nebraskon this november. my favorite anime include genshiken, elfen lied, excel saga, full metal panic? fumoffu, trinity blood, and hare + guu, and i recently picked up deathnote manga and love it.

Quote:

thirsty johann, you sound like a fun person to hang out with. i also like harmonix games, though i like frequency and amplitude more than guitar hero. i've been considering rule of rose for a while (i haven't seen much gameplay, though; mostly cutscenes. i don't want to be a weak-minded, weak-bodied, vulnerable woman). i have reserved the special edition ffxii (gamestop/eb exclusive) with the metal case and bonus dvd with artwork and commentary.

and, on a side note, my next anime convention begins the exact day the ps3 comes out .

I'm not really into anime all that much, although a friend did show me a movie I liked quite a bit. I can't remember what it was called, it was about this girl whose parents got turned into pigs.

I love video games, especially RPGs. I'm currently playing Fire Emblem: the Sacred Stones, and I just finished Keepsake yesterday. First game I've ever seen with a sad ending (hope that wasn't a spoiler for anyone). My screen name is the name of a town in Betrayal in Antara, my favorite computer game.

i don't play as many games as i used to, though i still indulge a bit. i was ridiculously excited to get my copy of "vagrant story" back from my friend last night - OMG SQUEE.

but uhhhhhhh anime. YEAH. i love it. if i had to list my favorites... um, that would take awhile. hah. i will say, though, that FLCL and azumanga daioh make me exquisitely happy i'm running through "nana" right now. it's so good. but i've reached the end of where the fansubbers are at right now, so i've been watching one piece (and re-watching outlaw star) in the meantime. yeah. good stuff.

That would be Spirited Away, definitely a great movie.
