I love Christmas. I love Christmas specials. But Frosty The Snowman is, at best, a winter special.

Honestly, I think if Jesus Christ were alive today he would agree with me when I say that a snowman that comes to life because of magic is an affront to God and clearly therefore isn't suitable viewing material for the purposes of celebrating his birth.

The Grinch is on par with Charlie Brown's Christmas special for delivering the best True Meaning of Christmas.

But not that gawdawful Jim-Carey-channeling-Richard-Nixon horrible excuse for a movie.

I refuse to see the Jim carey movie I love the this one. My favorite christmas carol movie is the old black and white one not sure of the year. The book is the best to if youve never read it I recomend reading it "A Christmas Carol" i mean.

Preach on, brother creezy!
I never saw all of that movie, but I saw enough.

The original, animated one is awesome. I have the audio CD of it and will listen to it every year. "You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch" is totally awesome.

What galled me at the time the Grinch movie was out was the amount of commercialism and product tie-ins surrounding a movie whose message was very much the opposite of that sort of thing. You know?

My favourite Christmas special is "Muppet Family Christmas". where the muppet gang, the Sesame Street gang and even the fraggles are all at Fozzie's mom's farmhouse. Great part is when the Swedish Chef is going to try to cook Big Bird, but then when they become friends, he instead decides to make "Shredded wheat, and cranberry sauce, MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE!!" (Big Bird says that). See it if you haven't!

Woooow... all I needed to see where a few of those snowflakes in the opening credits to know exactly what it was and for a huge surge of warm fuzzy memories to take over...

I'll bet anything my dad still has my old VHS tape of this... which I'm sure has been totally warped by moisture by now, but you never know...

I actually liked the Jim Carey Grinch Stole Christmas, it is very funny and cute. I watched the Polar Express last night and that was really good, I also like Nester (?) not sure of the title and his ears kept Jesus warm and his (Nester's) Mom gave her life to keep him warm. I also have to watch A Christmas Story every year or it just isn't Christmas.
