She has a turkey that had been dumped outside a vets in a box through the freezing night. A note attached saying 'cant cope with it anymore'.

So she has taken him/her in and introduced him/her to the hens she has got. She has named him/her Terrance until she knows his/her sex.

Poor soul was terrified when first arrived and tried, ostrich like, to hide his/her head in a corner.

He/her is massive and beautiful.

She has now 6 hens, 2 rabbits, 2 dogs and three kids under 3 yrs old!!!!.

While a turkey wouldn't make for a good pet where I live, I think you're friend is awesome!

I say good for your friend for taking in an abandoned turkey. I hope that poor creature will soon relax and realize that he/she has a good home now.

Thanks folks, he/she is beginning to settle and comes to my friend, but wont let her touch him/her. We think the turkey is male as he is huge.

I used to have a pet turkey. I was his woman and he would get very jealous if my husband tried to come near me while I was out in the chicken coop. He would even sit on my lap and put his head on my shoulder. It was very sweet

I met a turkey at a shelter this weekend. He stood on my feet while I was working with the rabbits, rubbing his chest on my shins. It was really strange! He was a neat creature.
