I met someone in my Spanish class that is diabetic, and sat with her for lunch one day. The conversation got to talking about my vegetarianism. She said that she was really interested in vegetarianism, and feels bad about eating animals, but she has diabetes and takes insulin shots and says that it is recommended for her to eat meat to be healthy. I wanted to know if this was true? What are some things that can help her blood sugar be level and is a veggie alternative to meat? I mean, there really isn't any reason for eating meat, (health reasons) besides if you have problems absorbing vitamins from plant based sources, right?
Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it and just wanted to know of any articles I could show her if she wanted to make the switch herself.

That is interesting. My dad is diabetic and got into a plant based diet and got me into it because it is supposed to be great for diabetics and help you prevent getting it.
