I couldn't find a thread about eating fresh herbs/spices so I thought I would start one.
I just transitioned from eating store bought/dehydrated spices/herbs to eating fresh ones. I have a mint plant and an oregano plant but I have no idea how to eat them. I can figure out recipies ok but I'm not sure what part of the plant to eat? I know sometimes you can eat a plants stem but not the leaves (ie rhubarb) so I'm just making sure I'm not going to kill myself.

Mint and Oregano, you eat the leaves or you can throw whole stalks in when cooking and fish them out at the end. The stalks are kinda woody.

I grow all those herbs and more! I just thought they were yummy, didn't realise they were so good for you. Wonder how much you have to eat?
