I love pure maple syrup. I'm from NH, it's in my blood, but it's so high calorie. Sometimes I will use it in place of the sugar in pancake batter, rather than as a topping. Usually I go the fresh fruit route with some berries or sliced bananas or oranges or apples or whatever I have on hand. Another thing I like to do is mix canned pumpkin in the French toast batter... Yum!
