They were giving out free samples at the Mass Moca and I was really hungry because it was past lunch time.

So I got samples of cookies and cream and mudpie.

Was hoping they'd have samples of their soy ice cream when I went over since the company who supplies them makes a soy ice cream.

Go to Lickety split in MA and you can get a soy ice cream cone.

Feel a little guilty today since usually when I endulge in freegan dairy stuff it's because it's going to be thrown out if I don't eat it...In this case I hope I didn't increase demand for it.

I used to do those demonstrations back when I worked at a grocery store. I could give out an unlimited amount of the product. When I would run out of a package of something, I would go to the shelf and get some more. Taking free samples like this does increase the demand for the product (however slightly). The only way it wouldn't be increasing demand would be if the person was done for the day and had some left in the container, and was going to throw it out regardless.
