I've been reading an ebook by Cameron Teone and I'm really quite impressed. Yeah, it's marketed as a 'dating' book but really applies to social interaction in general, and it's been very helpful in helping me see what have been the core issues with my shyness all my life, especially prevalent around women. This is something even my therapist hasn't been able to do (and i pay him $125 a session...)

Anyway, this is a good article by Cameron about approaching strangers you don't know (one of the things personally quite nerveracking to me): http://www.article-base.info/motivat...-to-exist.html

His book is called "The Attributes" and you can find it on bit torrent...I will be sending him money when i can afford to.

What makes it specifically for guys?

well, i guess it is up to the reader, but he wrote it specifically for guys, in terms of being more confident, being able to approach women and strangers in general with a sense of conviction, and just possessing a strong reality.

i mean, unfortunately, in our society, the male and female gender roles are not the same.

i think women just have different things on their minds than men do in a social situation. of course that is an extreme generalization...

but i'm just saying, my dad never really taught me how to 'be a man' and it wasn't something my mother was able to teach me, so i'm just having to learn from experience and from books.

you say your dad and mother weren't able to teach you how to "be a man"...

Just curious... what makes a man a "man"??? What's to be taught that you need to read books to get a clue how to "be a man" You are yourself, regardless of what was/could be/is taught to you.

I thought a penis made men be men-regardless of anything else-?

I thought you just needed to have a Y chromosome. But even that's suspect with society's advancing presbyopia.
