I always thought I hated hummus because I tried it once at a restaraunt and I didn't like it, but I bought it at the store a few months ago to see if I still hated it, and now I'm up to a 14oz tub in two days!!! LOL, I hope it's not bad for you in large quantities!!!

Tofu, and seitan for sure. Now they're staples in my diet! Also, some general veggies, like squash and zuchinni. I'm still scared of edamame although there's some in my freezer. I need to try it soon!

Seitan, for sure. "Wheat Meat" I thought...what the **** does that mean? lol

There are many things I hated as a kid that I now LOVE...brown rice, mustard, hummus, peas, crusty bread.

I always hated sweet potatoes as a kid, because my only exposure to them was in that sickeningly sweet Thanksgiving dish. You know, the one with the mini-marshmellows on top? *shudder*

I finally took the leap and tried one baked and now I love them.

I'm slowly getting over my childhood hatred of raw tomatoes, although I can only handle them chopped up or sliced thin.

Have you ever seen them made with the pastel-colored mini marshmallows? I have, at potluck dinners. It is a sickening sight, let me tell you. There are some foods that are not meant to go together. Also some foods that are not meant to be pastel colored.

Let's see: tofu, veggie burgers, seitan, tempeh, broccoli, spinach, various cabbages, kale, tomatoes, zucchini, bananas, vegetable sushi, sweet potatoes, soy milk, enchiladas, guacamole, hummus, falafel, brown rice, whole wheat bread, dark chocolate...I could keep listing things if I wanted to, but this list tells you how picky an eater I was before I became a vegetarian. I think I lived almost entirely off of white pastas and white rice with some chicken and beef thrown in. Ugh. Thank God those boring days of eating are over.

Yes, bananas. Odd as it sounds. I thought I'd hate them until I tried one. I was an extremely picky eater as a child. My poor parents had a very difficult time of getting me to eat food that wasn't junk. There was a time I wouldn't even eat pizza, I was that bad. My sister was the same way (she still is pretty picky about a lot of things--I grew out of it, but it took some time). My parents would have to make something separate on the side for us (or get us a happy meal from somewhere) when they wanted some pizza.

Wow, a kid that doesn't like pizza. I think you were definitely in the minority with that one. Usually that's one of the few things a kid WILL eat.

I used to work with a lady who would melt those marshmallow peeps on top of a baked sweet potato. *shudder*
