According to the article, sourdough is not vegan, but it appears to be vegetarian-safe.
I didn't see anything in that article suggesting that sourdough bread in general is not vegan. It mentioned Amish Friendship bread, which is started with milk, but it appears to state that sourdough is generally started simply with flour and water, and sometimes rye or grapes. What's not vegan about that?
