Capes and all....haha, no j/k.

But seriously, I am about to relocate to California and we are taking the little guys on the plane. Of course this is the first (and hopefully last) time this will happen. Has anyone else ever experienced airline travel with pets?

I am planning on booking with United b/c they have the lowest rate of travel related incidents (per the ASPCA) and they seem to be pretty accomodating. They even allow the cats as carry-on items with proper kennels!! I will have one cat and my boyfriend will have the other.

These are the kennels we bought which comply with United's standards for fitting them under the seat in front of us:

It should be interesting. If anyone has done this before I'd love to hear about it! Sometimes you never know what to expect!

We just had thread on traveling with cats just recently. Here is it:

I will have to maybe fly with my cats soon and I am NOT looking forward to it. I know my one cat will 'sing' the whole way there and drive the rest of the passengers crazy. I am nervous about the security checkout too. You have to take your pet out of the carrier when you go through the security. eek! I am still second thinking about driving them.(i have three).

I have seen many small doggies travel very well. Spirit Airlines will also accept pets for travel - they don't go to all airports thought.
