Nearly 2 years ago, remi, ebola, mayuko and I were going to the local whole foods. Remi suggested we try their vegan thai chili truffles. Being the dork that I am, I thought he was talking about fungus truffles, not chocolate truffles.

So I was like "uhh, ew, you guys have at it. Gross."

Yeah, turns out they were chocolate.

Traditional hummus, in the case where the ready-to-eat sandwiches are.

I love Whole Foods. I have only been there once but I just can't forget it. It's awesome. I just thought it was great. I thought I was in heaven. LOL. I went to one of them in Memphis, TN. I think they have 2 or 3. I loved it. I wanna go back someday. I'm planning on moving to Texas so i'm gonna try to find one there. I just know they have some.

Whole Foods is pretty nice. I love their bakery products and cheese selection. I also love their salad/hot foods bar. Their prices are too steep for me to shop for everything there, though.

I [heart] Whole Foods!!!

When I first met my bf, he was into organic, healthy eating (I was not) and took me to WF (was called Fresh Fields at that time) and I poo-poo'd it all. The food was scary looking to me. lol But I got over it and now it's my favorite place, ever. I credit Whole Foods (and my bf) for helping me get into organic, natural eating and eventually veg*nism. There are sooo many stores in the dc area but the one we go to most is about 30-45 min away. They are great there and it goes to show how often we go there because all of the store clerks know us and what we always buy.

We buy their 365 Peanut Butter (it's the best and I got my mom on it too), their frozen veggies, their bread, their hummus, guac, freshly made soups, pasta sauces, artichoke-spinach dip (before going vegan) and any number of their other products.

Their Tofu 'Egg' Salad is to DIE for!! But I can only find it at one store near me. When I ate dairy, I loved their cream cheeses and their home-made butter.

And I am going to pretend that I didn't hear about those truffles being vegan. That's not good information for my thighs.

Ooh. HangTenHoney. You have to look for Asmar's brand hummus there. I've only seen it at WF and at this other small HFS chain (the name of which I can't recall) in DC area. I would sell my soul to the devil himself for some of that stuff here. Seriously,

The WF in Boca Raton, Florida has a local brand of hummus that I can't find anywhere else, and it's the only hummus I've ever liked. Usually, I go to WF because it's the only place I can find vegan chocolate.

Ty Jen, I'll look for it the next time we go. It can be frustrating sometimes that different WFs carry different products. Luckily, we have over a dozen WFs within about a two hour drive of us. We went to WFs today and got us some hummus for dinner. One container of WF brand garlic and one of Sun-Ni's dill hummus. Sun-Ni's hummus is just YUM. http://www.sunnicheese.com/hummus.html

Another thing I love about WF is that I can always count on them for foods without preservatives and additives. The only hummus I can find in a regular grocery store has all sorts of icky things in it like hydrogenated oils, MSG, etc. and it always tastes like poo.
