I haven't watched horror movies for yeeeaars.... but in my teens i recall i especially liked Evil Dead (there were about 3 movies in the evil dead series, i think, including Medevil Dead) and Brain Dead (aka: Dead-Alive) - i thought that movie was gory, yet very cheesy and hilariously funny.

I can't remember any others (its all a bit of a haze, to be honest, lol) and at some point i moved from liking horror to appreciating the darker side of sci fi and higher end gothic movies... probably about the same time as i saw movies like The Crow, Interview With the Vampire, and Dark City, and older stuff like Bladerunner- which i found were often-times less gory, but with slightly more depth of plot and storyline.

I prefer spooooky to horror, some of my faves are:

The Old Dark House (1932)

The Haunting (1963)

The Innocents (1961)

The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

The House on Haunted Hill (1959)

No modern horrors are leaping to my mind as favorites this morning.

1. Exorcist III - Amazing. George C. Scott & Brad Dourif on the same screen, how can you not love it?! Unfortunately no one bothered to watch it because II was so awful.

2. Nosferatu (1979) - Yep, the remake. One of the few remakes in movie history that I liked better than the original. Herzog-Kinski rocks.

3. Phantasm IV - A total mind-blowing experience. But in order to understand it you have to watch I thru III which might get on your nerves.

4. Dracula: Dead and Loving It! - I don't care what the critics say. Bat poop is FUNNY.

Ah, I like the classics!

Amityville II: The Possession

The Exorcist

Poltergeist

Children of the Corn

For some reason, Freddy and Jason movies don't scare me - I actually start laughing!

I don't find movies scary at all. I watch them just because they're either interesting or funny.
